Tulip ‘Apeldoorn Red’ is the epitome of a classic tulip, with gentle scent of small notes of vanilla, has beautifully formed bright scarlet flowers on tall sturdy stems, above broad lance-shaped leaves. The classically egg-shaped, exceptionally large blooms are draped with cherry red flowers emerge with a hint of yellow with black base and heart.
It is recommended that tulips are planted in October and November before hard frosts hit. Prefers full sun.
It looks spectacular woven through a border, will set sunny beds, patios, gardens and containers ablaze from mid to late spring; and the flowers make a big impact in a vase indoors.
