PERNETTYA mucronata P14
Description
Gaultheria mucronata, commonly known as prickly heath, is a bushy evergreen shrub valued for its year-round foliage and colourful autumn berries. It produces small, sharply pointed dark green leaves and delicate, nodding white bell-shaped flowers during late spring and summer. On pollinated female plants, these are followed by eye-catching red, pink or white berries that can remain attractive well into winter. Its compact, suckering habit makes it an excellent choice for woodland gardens, shaded borders, containers and areas with acidic soil. A male plant should be grown nearby to ensure good berry production.
