Acer palmatum Cascade Ruby ('Sonkoot6') is a hardy, vigorous Japanese maple admired for its graceful weeping habit and colourful seasonal foliage. Its deeply lobed leaves emerge orange-yellow in spring, gradually changing to mid-green with red tones through summer before turning bright yellow-orange in autumn. Reaching around 2.5 to 4 metres in height and spread, Cascade Ruby makes a beautiful specimen tree for gardens, courtyards, containers, or Japanese-style planting schemes. It grows best in moist but well-drained soil and prefers a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade, where its delicate foliage can be protected from harsh winds.
