For spring, your best choice is Hyacinth 'Peter Stuyvesant'. It's a deep, dark violet-blue, with an absolutely stunning, sweet fragrance.

The flower stems of Hyacinth orientalis 'Peter Stuyvesant' are bronze-tinted, which produces a dense cylindrical cluster of fragrant, waxy, bell-shaped rich violet-blue flowers with strap-shaped, glossy leaves. These are perfectly able to support the multitude of blooms they carry.

This hyacinth is best planted in early autumn, for flowering in early spring. Plant these straight into the garden soil, or outdoor containers and, for best effect, in clusters of five.
It performs equally well in full sun or part-shade. Pot up and bring indoors if you want them to flower in January.
These richly coloured hyacinths will add real oomph to your spring bedding scheme.
