Restaurant Assistant Manager
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced, hands-on assistant manager to join our Evergreen Restaurant located within Carpenders Park Garden Centre.

We are searching for a true team leader to work with the existing staff to drive food and service standards at our very popular restaurant.

What we are looking for

- Previous experience within fast-paced restaurants/cafes or catering operations

- Experience with staff rotas, stock control, and achieving sales targets

- A true team leader who enjoys training, developing and motivating their team

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Problem solving skills

Your responsibilities

- Taking orders and handling payments

- Preparing barista style coffees and other drinks

- Setting the restaurant up for the day

- Keeping day to day activities organised

- Acting as a role model for all employees by continuously exhibiting a high level of service and attention to details in all tasks

- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

- Handling customers complaints and resolving other issues

- Maintaining the Restaurants’ good reputation and 5 Star Hygiene Rating

- Filling in for absent employees as need to make sure smooth operation of the business

- Dealing with schedule changes, employee call-ins and other staff issues

- Producing Staff Rotas

- Ordering Supplies

- Assessing and Improving Profitability

- Maintaining weekly stock take

- Stock ordering and negotiating with suppliers

- Recruiting and Interviewing new hires

- Training new staff

- Writing weekly reports to the general manager

- Ensuring Hygiene and Health and Safety Legislation

We are Carpenders Park Garden Centre, a family run business located in Watford WD19 5BA and we are passionate about food, coffees and plants! Our restaurant is full of amazing house plants, hence the name Evergreen!

We are known for our handmade scones, homemade cakes and freshly prepared dishes!

Essential Skills / Experience:
