Oxalis adenophylla is a pretty and petite alpine plant, commonly known as sauer klee, Chilean Oxalis or silver shamrock , has pretty fresh lilac-pink blooms that almost appear trumpet like, with five petals and dark mauve markings that sit within the throat of the delicate blooms. The grey green crisp and clean foliage of Oxalis adenophylla is just as interesting as the flowers with glaucus heart shaped leaves that are joined together at the tip creating a fan like habit.

The foliage on Adenophylla starts to appear in March and is very tactile, soft and spongy to the touch. Flowering in late spring and early summer, during May, June and July. This variety enjoys being in a well-drained fertile soil. Oxalis adenophylla will thrive in a sunny or part shaded location.

Sauer klee is a compact variety that behaves itself well in the border, and does not spread itself too wide, and is therefore a great candidate for pots and raised beds. Perfect for adding a splash of colour to your rockery garden, around the fish pond, or in a container.
