Own Vegetables

Tomatoes

Growing your own vegetables is a very rewarding hobby for many good reasons. It’s a great way to supply your family with fresh tasty produce and you are in control of whether the developing crops are grown with or without chemicals. Vegetables are easy to grow and you don’t even need a garden to grow them.

Lettuce

A large pot filled with compost or a Gro-Bag is all you need to get started. For best results, start with a few vegetables that are easy to grow such as Lettuces, radishes and tomatoes.

Herb Plants

There are many reasons to grow Herbs. They are incredibly versatile; they can give your garden fragrance and beauty; they have culinary and medicinal uses and you will save money by growing your own! What more could you possibly want from a plant!

Parsley

Our range includes popular varieties such as Rosemary, Basil, Thyme and Mint as well as the less common Angelica, Lemon Verbena and Hyssop.

Carpenders Park Nursery always has a wide range of both ornamental and fruit trees to suit every size of garden and situation. Whether it’s a small tree for the patio or something larger to create a feature in your lawn, we will have something suitable in stock. Our knowledgeable staff will be happy to offer you advice to ensure that you get the best results from your tree.

Shrubs


ShrubEvergreen and flowering shrubs can offer interest in your garden throughout the year and with our wide range, there’s always plenty to choose from. In addition to traditional varieties, we stock rare and unusual species all year round. Our experienced staff can give you advice on choosing and looking after your plants.

 


 

Climbers

Why not cover up that ugly old fence or wall with a beautiful climber. Clematis are one of the most popular climbers and they are available in a wide spectrum of flower colours, that will brighten up any dull wall or forgotten corner. Other climbers to consider include Jasmine, Honeysuckle and Sweet Peas noted for their fragrance, and Climbing Hydrangea and Ivy for covering up shady fences.

 


 

GrassesPerennials, Grasses and Ferns

Perennial or herbaceous plants are a speciality at Carpenders Park Nursery. Each spring, thousands of Hostas, Lupins, Delphiniums and other cottage garden plants are potted up and grown on in our Nursery. If its something more contemporary you require, then why not try Hostas, Gunneras and rheums amongst others? There’s always a good range to choose from throughout the year. Home-grown plants help to keep prices reasonable and ensure continuity of supply.

 


 

Hedging and Screening Plants

A hedge in the garden not only provides screening and protection, but is also useful as a living wind break. Whilst Leylandii and Laurel tend to be popular because of their fast growing nature, there are several more choices available with more ornamental attributes including Beech, Hawthorn, Privet and Holly. The Nursery has an excellent selection of hedging plants throughout the year.

 


 

Yellow RoseRoses

Hardy, colourful and repeat flowering – it’s not surprising that roses are Britain’s most popular garden plant. We stock a wide range of top quality plants from world renowned rose experts such as David Austin and Paul Chessum.



There is a rose available for every situation in the garden. Hybrid Tea and Floribunda roses are popular for planting in beds and borders and where space is limited, patio and miniature roses are suitable alternatives.

These are vigorous varieties that are also suitable for growing over archways, pergolas and obelisks.

 

 


 

Bedding Plants

Bedding plants are ideal for adding a splash of colour to beds, borders, and to fill your pots, troughs and hanging baskets. Our spring selection includes the ever popular Geraniums and Fuchsias, as well as the more unusual Lotus Vine and Cleome (spider flower). For containers and baskets, our selection of trailing plants is hard to beat, including 40 colours of trailing Petunias and 50 varieties of hanging Fuchsias.


Bedding Plants

In the autumn and winter months, there is a wide selection of spring bulbs to complement our winter Pansies, Cyclamen, Primroses and Chrysanthemums.

 


 



Mature Garden Plants

The nursery has recently undergone extensive refurbishment works and now grows and stocks wide range of mature hardy, exotic and architectural plants. These include shrubs, conifers, bamboos, climbers hedging and topiary plants, ranging in height upto 6 metres. Our staff are passionate about plants and are happy to help and advise.
