Environmental Policy

Carpenders Park Nursery & Garden Centre is a retail and wholesale business, supplying the garden products to our customers in the Hertfordshire, Middlesex and North London areas.

We recognise that our company has the opportunity to have a positive impact on the environment and that we must strive to raise environmental awareness amongst our staff, our suppliers our customers and the local community.

Our commitment to the environment is:

To uphold the laws and regulations relating to the environment

To work diligently to reduce energy and resource consumption, adhering to good industry practice

To reduce pollution and to influence and advise our customers and employees in sound environmental practice

Examples of the action we are taking within our Environmental Policy include:

Water Usage

Watering of the nursery & garden centre is carefully monitored according to season. Where possible, plants are hand watered during the early morning, when evapo-transpiration is at its lowest.

Product Sourcing

Carpenders Park Nursery & Garden Centre regularly reviews its supplier policies and gives preference to suppliers offering products that are locally produced. We regularly visit suppliers and the major trade exhibitions to enable us to research new products that will reduce the impact on the environment.

Waste Production

Recycling of all waste products is encouraged by Carpenders Park Nursery. Green waste, produced from various nursery, garden centre and site maintenance operations is composted and used to top dress the flower borders around the site.
